Thread: xbox live price increase?

Ive heard a rumour that Xbox Live is increasing in price next year to £80, Ive also heard that its going to be free.. are either of these rumours true?

There has been speculation since the console came out that Microsoft would follow in Sony's footsteps and attempt to make the consoles online capabilities free. The simple truth is, Xbox LIVE users report an overall better experience than PS3 users with their free online play, so it seems likely if anything, Microsoft will increase the price.

The Xbox Live being free is just a rumor. We pay for the service now and theres some lag on some games imagine if the service was free and then there is no incentive for Microsoft to keep the severs running as they are and to improve them so overall things would just get worse

If they added online gaming free feature, then i'm sure that they'll increase price of console. It will make harder for them to sell xbox. I think sony will have advantage here.

One thing's for sure , i hope that the price would not increase in the near future !

Hard to say, I definately don't believe that it will be free, that's one thing I am pretty sure of, because it just doesn't make sense.

An increase in price does make sense unfortunately, but I haven't heard anything definate about it, so thats just a rumor as well at the moment. I hope that isn't true though!
