Sony has released Firmware Update 6.0 for PSP, fixing security issues and making slight amendments to the XMB.

Don't go getting yourself too excited, though. While many had been expecting quite a few big changes for the 6.0 firmware, Sony has branded the update as "minor", listing only three things as being included. Here's the list:

For those of you looking to customize your XMB, a few new colors will be added under the Theme Settings.

A security patch has been added.

Network Update has been renamed as System Update.

Good news if you were confused over what Network Update meant, but not so good if you were expecting an overhaul similar to the likes of the recent PS3 3.0 update.

The PSP 6.0 firmware is compatible with all versions of the console, and will likely be shipped with PSPgo when it launches on October 1st.
