Talking Jesse McCartney confirms Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep localization

    From Joystiq

It may seem like an unlikely source for video game news, but pop singer Jesse McCartney's Twitter account has confirmed the localization of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Square Enix hasn't announced a US release for the PSP prequel, but considering the franchise's penchant for making money, it certainly was never in doubt.

Birth by Sleep would be McCartney's third foray into the Kingdom Hearts universe, having previously voiced Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days. Kingdom Hearts Union suggests that McCartney may be voicing Birth By Sleep's "new" character, Ventus (pictured, right) -- y'know, the one that looks exactly like Roxas (pictured, left).

Okay, all you Kingdom Hearts fans, It's time to get excited. "Kingdom Hearts:Birth by Sleep" is the long awaited to prequel to the Kingdom Hearts saga. According to Wikipedia the story will take place 10 years prior to the events of the Kingdom Hearts game. A source close to the game production, has revealed that Actress Russi Taylor, the longtime voice of Minnie Mouse, and Brett Iwan, the new voice Mickey Mouse, began recording their respective characters voices for the new game yesterday. Now, this is big news for a couple reasons. First it means that the wait is close to over for Kingdom Hearts fans, who have been waiting for this game since the "teaser" video for it at the end of Kingdom Hearts II was released in 2007. The real surprise revelation, to some, may be that of Brett Iwans involvement in the project. Since the news of Brett Iwans ascension to the Post of "Voice of Mickey Mouse," some doubt had crept up, and recently there had been some chatter on the internet that speculated that the Iwan "hiring" was actually a hoax and that since the initial buzz of his hiring, Disney has never officially announced that Iwan is in fact, Wayne Allwine's successor. Many assumed that such an announcement would have come during the D23 Expo back in September. But as our trusted source told us, announcement or not, Brett Iwan is DEFINITELY recording the voice of Mickey for Kingdom Hearts. There is still no release date for "Birth by Sleep" but it does appear that the game will be a PSP exclusive. -Admiral Duke with additional research by DFR staffer Pirate Queen Ceili.

PS: Stich's voice is confirmed to be Chris Sanders.
    The Fight will start !
