When it was introduced last year, the Skype functionality on PSP was welcomed by fans. Although there had been rumors Sony was working on a PSP phone, this was the next best thing. The voice over IP service allows you to make phone calls anywhere in the world from your PSP as long as you are connected to a wireless hotspot. Even better, calls to other Skype users are FREE, and prices for regular calls are way lower than calling with a regular phone. The only thing you need to get started is a PSP 2000 or 3000 with the latest Sony official firmware and a headset (to input your voice). Sorry those of you rocking the PSP 1000 'Phat', Skype doesn't work on the older system due to a shortage of RAM. So far in our experience the service works great and calls come through crisp and clear. Another nice thing is that all of your contacts from your PC account are automatically carried over to PSP when you sign in.
