    Default Mounting Disk Images

    What is a disk image?
A disk image file (or simply a disk image) is an exact binary copy of an entire disk or drive. Disk image files contain ALL the data stored on the source drive including not only its files and folders but also its boot sectors, file allocation tables, volume attributes and any other system-specific data. Actually, a disk image is not a collection of files or folders but is an exact duplicate of the raw data of the original disk, sector by sector.

So basically its like a virtual copy of a Hard Drive, DVD or CD.

The most common types of disk images are
bin, b5t, b6t, bwt, ccd, cdi, cue, iso, mds, nrg, pdi, isz, and mdf.
So if you get a file with one of these at the end mount it with daemon tools.

    Mounting an image

    1. Once you have installed and started DAEMON tools, you should now see a "lightning bolt" icon (green/red) next to your PC clock.

    2. Right click that "lightning bolt" icon again, left click "VIRTUAL CD/DVD-ROM" again. Then left click "Device 0: [*Letter*] No media", then left click "Mount image" (blue).

3.1 Then on the screen that pops up, navigate to where your Disc Image is to mount it to the virtual drive. When you find it, click it once then click the "Open" button (purple).

3.2 If you do not see the image file your looking for

You next where is says Files of type change From All images to All files

    4. Windows should autorun the Disk contents

    If it doesn't

    5. Go to "My Computer", you will see a "extra" drive listed there (red). That is the "virtual drive" created by DAEMON Tools. It should have the name of what ever the image you mounted was in this case shopgirls.

    6. Right click the daemon tools "lightning bolt" icon (green/red) next to your PC clock move your mouse to Emulation and click All options ON.

    Mounting multiple part disk

Some games or applications will have more than one disk. Needed for ether installing or running the program. To mount these multiple part disks is just like mounting a single disk.

    3. Then on the screen that pops up, navigate to where your Disc Image is to mount it to the virtual drive. When you find it, click it once then click the "Open" button (purple).

Windows should autorun the Disk contents

    If it doesn't

    4. Now if you go to "My Computer", you will see a "extra" drive listed there (red). That is the "virtual drive" created by DAEMON Tools. It should have the name of what ever the image you mounted .

    5. Start installing the program when ask for disk 2 mount the second image
right click the daemon tools icon and unmount the current image.

    6. Mount the second disk image in the same Device/letter you mounted the previous image with. (So if you mounted the first image with Device 0: [F:] mount the second image with Device 0: [F:]) and continue the installation.
( You should now get the hang of it so if there is a 3rd and forth disk follow the same steps.)
