Default Determining Original PSP Firmware from the Box Codes

This guide is mainly intended for PSP Slim (2000)

Some PSP 2000's have a motherboard installed on them that can't be hacked using the Pandora Battery Method.

These were the last PSP Slims in production which were released just before the PSP 3000 was launched.

Any PSP with original boxed firmware with 4.01 or above has a TA-088v3 motherboard or above.

Generally speaking, any new PSP 2000 still available in retail stores will have a TA-088v3 motherboard.

But used PSP's in good condition may still have their original box, or if you have just found out about Custom Firmware, you may want to know if it is possible to hack it
