~Notes~
Many of you may know, I am the biggest Star Wars fan/geek on the planet! As such its only natural I should like this game (and I do) but im going to tell you all WHY I like this game, as so many of you seem to hate it for no good reason. Ill admit, at first I was sceptical because Krome Studios make it. They made the worthless bile that was Hellboy and the horrifying Viva Piñata spin-off! But fear not. LucasArts have guided Krome with a stern hand. In fact the only major qualm I have is that Starkiller holds his lightsaber normally and not in the backhanded way. Anywho, lets get on with the review

What about the graphics? They are not perfect but they get the job done. There are some fancy Warping and Motion blur effects and the Characters faces look AMAZING (even if they don’t animate well). The other great thing is that your lightsaber makes scorch marks when it clashes with another saber. This looks really cool and adds to the immersion factor. Overall though nothing to phone home about here; a 7.8/10

Onto the sound. The sound is amazing, Voice acting has been Ripped straight from the PS3 and 360 Versions of the game, so its high quality throughout! The music is, as always, amazing. The music just cannot disappoint in a star wars game can it? The Lightsaber sounds very realistic and are high quality too! A well deserved 9.4/10

Now the Gameplay. And weeeee doggy do we have Gameplay here! This version of TFU is Jam packed with content. I’ll explain. The PS3 and 360 versions got Euphoria AI and DMM physics, the WII version got Multiplayer and a few new levels, The DS version got shafted with No new content, The PS2 version got Special enw levels (The Jedi Trails), the PSP version got ALL of this except the DMM and Euphoria. But it also got more! There are several new game modes only on PSP these are:

Historic Battles mode = Play all the Great battles from the movies in true Force Unleashed style! You can play as Mace Windu in the Arena (Episode II), Obi-Won and Anakin fighting Count Dooku (Episode III), Luke escaping from Jabba (Episode VI), Darth Vader fighting Luke in the Carbonate Chamber (Episode V) and Anakin fighting Obi-Won on Mustafar (Episode III). All these battles feature the actors voices directly ripped from the movies, so the immersion factor is massive!

Force Duel = Play as any of the characters you have unlocked and fight all the Jedi and Sith from the complete Star Wars Universe, This includes the Films, Books, Games, TV Shows anything!

Order 66 = Choose any of the characters you have unlocked and try to survive against a near endless stream of Clone Troopers, not really exciting at first, but on the later waves it can get pretty hectic

Force out! = Try to “Force” your opponent out of the ring *ONLY UNLOCKED AFTER COMPLETING WAVE 14 OF ORDER 66 MODE*

Ad-Hoc Multiplayer = Pretty self explanatory really. An Ad-hoc, 4-player Free For All

*Whew* that’s all the new game modes xD. Now onto the actual Gameplay. What does he control like? Pretty good actually /\ is force push and you hold /\ to grip, this feels fluid and smooth. O sends out a burst of lightning and if you Double tap O…well…ill tell you about that later on . You can upgrade your force powers by killing enemies and collecting the Blue Orbs they leave behind. You also gain devastating new force powers when you complete certain missions. Which brings me to the Double O power J once you complete a certain mission (I forgot what it was) you gain the new power “Sith Fury”. When you double tap O he doesn’t use his hand to burst out lightning, oh no, He Puts his lightsaber away and uses both his hands to completely obliterate everything in front of him! And there are also destructible environments! Yes, you read right, Destructible Environments! Let’s give you an example: Say you see a massive stone statue and a load of rebels underneath. Use force grip on the statue and cause it to fall on the rebels, but your not done there, oh no, you then chop up the statue with your ‘Saber and throw all the little pieces at the army advancing towards you What really intrigues me is the death system. It plays like BioShock in that regard. You pass these holocron scanners which…Scan you. After that, when you die you get sent back to that scanner with full health, but everything is as it was before you died. So the enemies have the same health and so on. This works pretty well in TFU as its all about flowing with the force, and it helps keep that flow up. This will not happen during Boss fights though, When you die during a boss fight you will respawn, but the Bosses health will be increased 50% from where it is…so Say you have lowered the bosses health down to 30%, you die and respawn. The boss will now have 70% health. It’s a system that’s perfect in my opinion. Forgiving, but not too much. The only bad thing about the game play is the Camera, which you cannot control L so what do I give the Gameplay? A 9.98 Because of that annoying camera.

Well you’ve heard it from me, The Force Unleashed is one of the best PSP games out. So go download it guys!
