Well now, How to Review the Masterpiece of my life? Ooooo it’s a Toughie, but I’ll give it a whirl J So…well now…Metal gear solid 4. I cannot describe it really. I shall try though

Firstly the graphics. Ok so the opening movie plays out… WTF? I wont tell you what it is, but I will say…What ?! It will be confusing at first, but listen to what he says at the end, and Its funny though Ok so you finally hear David Hayter’s voice and see the real opening movie…Very Nice CGI…what? That’s not CGI?! Im afraid it isn’t my friends. Every single cut scene in this game is rendered 100% with the Game engine. You will not believe me, but it’s true. What ive just said should give you some idea of the graphics. I have never; in all my years come across a game as…Beautiful as this. Im not just saying that. It is Beautiful. But what impressed me most was the water. It really looks like you can reach out and drink it. Everything about the game is so…Is so…Mind-blowing

Onto the Story. Honestly this is more Film than game. The story deserves to be in a Book. It has twists and turns, there’s sorrow, romance, fear, excitement, nervousness and anger. All rolled into this Art of a game. Im dodging around the story because MGS4 is the kind of game where…If anyone tells you anything at all about it. That’s the experience gone. Don’t read any reviews until you play it, I Beg you! This review is Spoiler free, so you can read this. But Beware of Spoiler Reviews. Anyway at the main premise of the story are the Patriots, La-Le-Lu-Li-Lo. We first found out about the Patriots in MGS3. When Eva, Ocelot, Big Boss, Commander Zero and Para-Medic started them. And in the 40 years afterwards they have done away with all human patriots. And the entire World War Ecomany is controlled by 4 AI Cores. That’s it. Im not telling you any more. Want to know more? Play the damn game!

Onto the Sound. Everything sounds amazingly stupendous! The music rises to a crescendo when the battle heats up and the voice acting is higher than Top Notch. Did I tell you about the Ipod? No, I don’t think I did. Well you have an Apple Ipod in the game. From there you can listen to Songs from other Metal gears and the weekly Radio Pod cast. This Radio Pod cast is sort of a Directors Commentary. If your wondering how to Download New songs and the weekly radio pod cast, then there is an Extras option on the main menu. But you don’t have to download all the music. Oh no, they are also scattered in boxes throughout the MGS4 world.

Onto the Gameplay. Well what is it you do in MGS4 anyway? This is a Stealth game…But its also a FPS, Action, Adventure, Puzzle and Strategy game J How can it be all those things? Well it’s simple; it’s a FPS because when you aim. You aim over the shoulder, like Gears of War, but if you tap the triangle Button you go into First person mode. You can play the entire game from First person mode if you wish. Its up to you. The most interesting aspect is the Camouflage. You’ve got a new suit. OctoCamo. You can now blend into anything around you, like an octopus Noooo! I can hear you all saying, Noooo, you mean a Chameleon… no I don’t, what’s the difference between an Octopus and a Chameleon? A Chameleon just copies colour Nothing else, but an Octopus copies colour and the shape of the terrain. That’s why it’s called OctoCamo. But what does it do? Well say a Gecko is running straight at you, what do you do?! (A Gecko is that mini Metal gear you’ve seen in the trailers). Anyway, what would you do? I’d press up against a wall and wait. My OctoCamo would suddenly turn sandy and I would be invisible. The Gecko would be looking straight at me and it wouldn’t know I was there But you have to remember. Snake is old now. He’s going to get some Back pain. If you see a Cold Compress somewhere, use it on him. Help relieve the pain. J

Concerning Cutscenes. Now most of you will know about some “Review” sites complaining about Long Cut Scenes. And some even claim they are 90 mins! Oh Noes!!! Well they should be sued for Falsified Evidence. No Way are the cut scenes 90mins! I will admit some are Loooooong. But the longest one is 40mins…does that sound long to you? Think about it. What do you think will be on the screen. A Big Black wall? As long you have a Full Brain (You’re going to need a Full brain for this game), you can follow the story. And if you follow the story, then you could sit through 900 mins of Cutscenes and not get bored. The Cutscenes are also interactive. You’ll see an on screen prompt to Press X or L1. L1 turns the cut scene into Snakes eyes, so you see what he sees (In the Cutscenes with Naomi you’ll wish you could press L1 so much). While the X prompts, trigger a memory. When you see the X prompt simply keep tapping X and flashes of the memory will appear. Like when your talking about FOXDIE, you’ll tap X and see images from Metal gear Solid 1 when Naomi injected you.

What about the Online? I know I don’t ordinarily Review the online part of the game, but Metal gear Online is so good I just have to tell you. To get online you need 2 accounts. A Konami ID and a Game ID. The Game ID lets you play the game, but you need a Konami ID to get a game ID. It’s all very complicated. Yes you can register from your PS3, but I recommend registering from your PC. Anyway, what is the online about? Remember you can only create one character per PS3. That’s not one character per Account, that’s one character per PS3. So what types of games are there? There is normal team Deathmatch, Deathmatch and many other team games. But the most interesting game mode is Sneaking. One player plays as Snake (with the OctoCamo) and the other players are divided into 2 teams, and the main goal is to Kill Snake, or if you are snake, then you have to knockout everyone and collect their Dog tags. The online plays, pretty smooth, but there is some Lag. There is No Bullet Lag at all, but there is some…Moving lag.
